A journey through time and luxury

Venice

A unique city with a thousand-year history

The hotel stands in Campo RieloSanta Croce, in the ancient heart of Venice, a few steps from the Grand Canal. What better starting point could you ever find for a discovery of the hidden settings behind every corner of this charming city!

Venice is extraordinary not only because it is literally built on the water, but also because it is thousand years old and its history is unique.
It was founded fifteen hundred years ago on a pool of muddy terrain in the middle of the lagoon. It was known as the “Serenissima”, and in short a time, it became one of the most important cities in Europe due to its strategic location.

Key hub of the commercial and business relationship between East and West, at the peak of its power, Venice controlled a huge empire, that extended from the Dolomites in the north to Cyprus. Venice had supremacy in the south-eastern Mediterranean sea.

A panorama of cultural and gastronomic offers

The old town consisting of over one hundred islands bears the marks of its long and prestigious history. There are about four hundred bridges joining the islands, the connectors of territory divided into six large administrative districts, called “Sestieri” three on each side of the Grand Canal.

The San Marco district is the one that hosts the most well-known tourist attractions, while the Castello district extends to its flanks in the east and Cannaregio in the north.

The cultural proposals which include museums and palaces of inestimable value are very rich but equally satisfying is the panorama of wine and food with the dozens of taverns and restaurants, specialized in dishes and wines, which tell about the ancient and glorious past of Venice.
Entertainment, with a full calendar of events, exhibitions, fairs which are held every year and in every season.
The carnival is famous all over the world.

However, one of the most beautiful things to do in Venice is losing themselves in the maze of streets and squares, surrounded by the water channels, and then popping out in some known square and disappearing again into the labyrinth of the center.
